A PROCESSING FACILITY FOR GOOD MEAT
Strengthening the New England food system.
Good meat is not produced or manufactured. It's raised.
Hi, Farm-Her Kate here. I'm "maker and shaker" at Stillman Quality Meats. We are a woman-owned, pasture-based livestock farm and Butchery in Hardwick, MA. Together with my two young sons we raise grass-fed and pasture-raised beef, pork, lamb, chicken, turkey and fresh eggs and produce an assortment of artisan meat products in our farm-to-table kitchen.
A lifelong "New England farmgirl" I started Stillman Quality Meats in 2006 with one simple goal: to share the farm-raised meats I grew up eating with my farm customers. I wanted folks to know not only how amazing these meats taste, but also experience and understand the story behind what it takes to bring these meats to the plate.
I am excited to share the news of some very BIG happenings at SQM....
We are building a processing facility for good meat.
We're excited to expand meat processing
New England is home to an amazing newtork of farmers, chefs, artisan producers, retailers and consumers and we're extremely proud to invest in this community by expanding meat processing options for the region.
With support from a network of communityt partners SQM is in the process of constructing a USDA-inspected meat processing facility for value-added and smoked products that will enable our farm, and farmers like us in the New England region to cut, smoke, prepare and finish a variety of local meat products- including sausages, bacon, hot dogs, pot pies, meatballs and much more- all close to home. This project supports:
- Local Farmers
We aim to provide Massachusetts wholesome, locally- sourced meats year round while providing local farmers a sustainable source of income all year;
- Community Focus
Community Ownership is what makes small business unique. We get to build the experience we want with the food; and
